I have been trying to update for a couple of days but work and a slow connection have stood in my way! but finally I have the card front to show you from the other day.
This was my favourite one I think. I used the Ornament SU punch, and small SU circle punch. Some random paper that I had in my stash, some rhinestones, twine a button and red and green SU cardstock. I cut my Top Note Die out of Certain Celery and then cut it in half. The sentiment is again from my stash. Posed on the stairs, the photographers fav position - well mine when my pop up tent is not too hand :)
I have made a couple more cards as you could see and will post both these tomorrow. I have just bought a few more SU bits before it is too late, and will be putting together a christmas card PDF very soon.....time allowing.
On a personal note I am off Wedding dress shopping at the weekend with my sister and just watched Claire Richards Slave to Food. I loved what she said at the end - in the end with food the only one who makes the choices to eat what you eat is you - with that in mind I am going to try my best to get the 2 stone off in the next 25 weeks and will be blogging that battle alongside my crafty love of card making :)
I realise that the dreaded C word is not necessarily one that people want to hear Mid-September but I am doing a craft fair at the end of November and I know that I have to try and make cards and notepads for it as and when I can!
This is just a glimpse of the cards I made this week. I will be posting better and clearer pictures with the supplies used over the next couple of days.

It was certainly a challenge to make this, but it was also fun.
My little boy is only 6 and a half but he decided we could make a light for the lighthouse with a plastic torch that we won at the amusements on holiday - was a good idea and although I did construct the box (from a small Stampin Up box). He painted it all.
He even made a boat for the lighthouse keeper to come and go in.
Was fun to get the paints out and he enjoyed it - amazing what you can do with black card and a bit of loo roll, so that the lights shone through the holes ( punched with my Stampin Up circle punch). He is really pleased and I like it too.
The one year scarf is progressing nicely. It is silly that all I need to do is 3 or 4 rows a day and it will be ready to wear - I hope it is long enough - not looking long enough yet - but only half way or less through the ball so fingers crossed :)
On the subject of Guinea Pigs, we had two lovely boys, but sadly lost one just before the summer holidays. He had his teeth trimmed and wouldnt eat and by the time we intervened it was too late. Was very hard and very sad. But now we are concerned that the other one is lonely.
I have been doing some research on the internet about how they would be introduced and I think we know how it should be done - just have to decide if we can risk it - as some times they don't get on and then they would have to stay in two cages and I wouldnt want that - my OH certainly wouldnt!!
Anyway - maybe tomorrow we will have Guinea Pig pics to show you - maybe we wont :)
One of the biggest problems with being a crafter is deciding on one craft to chose and then sticking to it.
I have always been into about 10 things at a time so tend to have 3 or 4 things on the go (probably an underestimate if I am honest!) and never finish anything.
This week I decided that even if I manage to knit 2 rows a day of my scarf that I started last year, that I would still finish it by the time I need to be wearing it in November/December.
So that is my challenge.
I love this teal and blue combo - and I hope by the time I get it finished I can actually get the teal coat to match!!!
Had a little play the other day with some stamps from the new Stampin Up Catalogue - they are great fun and can't wait to share more when it officially launches on the 1st October.
I got my sewing machine out too and sewed together this mini album which I am going to use to keep a record of my plans for our wedding cake - have to cut and print all the bits I have already used to pick the design. Should be great fun to put together.
Not long now till the end of the mini and the new catalogue launch!!
In all the excitement about the new catalogue due out on the 1st October, don't forget that the mini will be going at the end of September too!!

On a personal note had a great visit to see my sister and her family in Sheffield at the weekend. They sold their house and are now renting until they find the perfect place to live.
The kids were all very happy to find a garden to run around in (they didnt have one before, just a yard) and they played really happily for a couple of hours. We used to live in that part of Sheffield when I was younger so it was nice to take a drive and walk about to see how it has changed (or not) since I was there :)
Got some lovely pics of the kids too - this one of Lucy is one of my faves :)
I have been thinking about which Bigz Die to use from Stampin Up to make my wedding favours.
I have been playing this weekend and come up with the two below. I used the mini milk carton which is fab and tied the top up with Twine, I am hoping to use ribbon or a clip on the finished article but this was just a change to play with the die and see what it looked like. I love it...what do you think?
I also bought the Pillow Box die which is also really cute. The colours are just an example, not our planned wedding colours - but I loved the dark purple Stampin Up Cardstock - maybe I should have persuaded my OH to change to that LOL :)
This turned out really well and the seam binding is so gorgeous and easy to work with and although only available in limited colours currently - soon it will be the 1st and we can see if any other colours have been added to the range!! :)
Still thinking about another die that is up and coming to use - but won't be able to show you that till after 1st October :)

Finally I had 2 hours of crafty time and managed to make a slider card that we were shown at training. It seemed complicated on the night, but trying it again the day after it worked really well.
I used the I {heart} hearts stamp set to do a subtle pink background then cut out and mounted the Friend Stamp from the set within the dotted outline. It worked really well.
Used some DSP from the current Idea Catalogue - only available till 30th September and some black cardstock, twine from my own stash. Really easy and really effective I think :)
